AI Readiness Audit

The principal-delivered version. Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed duration.

Overview

What it is

Four to six weeks of direct work with me. Not a junior consultant running your intake while a partner reviews the output from a distance. I look at what AI you are running, what it is reaching into, what could break, and what you should do next. Twenty-five years of systems work sits underneath every recommendation. You get a written report you own at the end, not a slide deck you rent for a quarter.

Most organizations ask for this after a close call. Someone pasted client data into a chatbot. An employee connected an AI tool to a shared drive and told no one. A funder asked how AI usage is governed and the room went quiet. If any of that sounds familiar, the gap is already open.

Included

Fixed Fee

$12,500

Four to six weeks. Fixed scope. The principal on every hour.

What is included

  • Discovery across your team to find who is using which tools and what data those tools can reach
  • A full inventory and risk assessment of every AI tool in active use, including the ones nobody approved
  • A draft AI usage policy written for your organization, not lifted from a template
  • A prioritized roadmap: what to fix now, what can wait, and where AI can safely do more

What is not included

Implementation. That is quoted separately, based on what the assessment finds. The Audit is scoped to assess, document, and recommend. That boundary is deliberate. You own the roadmap whether I implement it or not.

How It Works

How it works

01

Week one: discovery

I ask for tool inventories, the data those tools can reach, and time with the people who actually use them. Teams expect a sales motion and get an audit motion. It is a little uncomfortable, and that is the point.

02

The middle weeks: the map

What is actually in your environment, next to what leadership thinks is in it. The gap is always bigger than expected. This is usually the moment something clicks.

03

The final week: the plan

A prioritized register of what to remove, consolidate, add, or leave alone, with real numbers and a sequence. Clients expect a shopping list. They get an operating plan.

Outcomes

What you keep

What you walk away with

  • A written report that names your actual exposure, tool by tool
  • A draft AI usage policy your team can follow without slowing down
  • A prioritized roadmap you can hand to a funder, a client, or an auditor
  • A clear answer to the board-level question you could not answer before

All of it yours to keep, whether or not you work with me again.

FAQ

Discovery interviews, a full tool inventory and risk assessment, a draft AI usage policy, and a prioritized roadmap, delivered as a written report. The report and the policy are yours to keep and use regardless of whether you engage me further.

Because I am not going to bill you two hours a month and use ten. A fixed fee means the honest answer and the profitable answer are the same answer. If the right call is to remove tools rather than add them, that is the recommendation, and it costs you the same either way.

Implementation is a separate engagement, scoped against what the Audit finds. You are never obligated to it. Some clients take the roadmap and run it themselves, and that is a fine outcome.

I do. Every hour of it. There is no account manager buffer and no junior handoff. That is also why I keep the number of active engagements small. You are not getting squeezed between ten other clients while a junior does the real work. When a project needs a specialist I do not carry depth in, I bring one in by name and tell you who and why.

I work inside your environment and to your access rules, not the other way around. Nothing sensitive leaves your control to make my job easier. If a step would require that, I flag it before it happens.

Then the report did its job. I am not here to tell you everything is fine. If you wanted a rubber stamp, I am the wrong person, and I will have said so before we started.

You do not need a finished plan. You need to know where you stand.
